Producing performance criteria for a large local authority
The authority already used objective setting as part of performance management and wanted to include criteria covering how people go about delivering their objectives, i.e. behavioural criteria. The diverse nature of the authority and its size presented interesting challenges for producing a single set of criteria that could be used across the authority.
Our first task was to clarify the organisation's strategic goals and corporate values. This was done using existing strategy documents and checked with members of the senior management team.![]()
